Who will be Ramaphosa’s deputy?

Now speculation abounds regarding the Deputy President.

Earlier this week, David Mabuza, asked for his swearing-in in Parliament to be postponed.

He’s currently addressing allegations made against him at the party’s integrity commission.

Former International Relations Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu, Minister in the Presidency, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Higher Education Minister Naledi Pandor have been named as a possible candidates for the job.

Speaking to eNCA Sisulu said if Mabuza was not coming back as the deputy president, a formal announcement would have been communicated.

“I think a formal announcement would have been made if he was not coming back. Everything that’s happening around us is just pure speculation,” said Sisulu.

While Pandor is neither denying nor confirming if she’s been offered the position of deputy president, she said the public should wait for President Cyril Ramaphosa to make the announcement.

“Any appoint to the Cabinet is the prerogative of the president and this is all just a wild speculation, so let’s wait on the president to announce his Cabinet,” Pandor said.

The president is expected to announce his Cabinet this Sunday.
