Actress and radio DJ Thando “Thabooty” Thabethe has launched her own YouTube podcast, called TV And R. This is the star’s way of educating young people about the radio and television industry.

The sultry actress told SunBuzz that the idea to start her own online show was born when she was on an international trip in LA, USA.

“I realised that podcasts are a big thing there, especially in entertainment. I also noticed that while LA has a lot of podcasts, none of them focuses on helping young people who want to get into the industry or those who are already in it.

“So I decided to do it here because it’s not as big,” she said. Thando said in her quest to educate and offer more insight into the radio and television industry, she asks people what they want to know more about regarding the industry.

Thabooty said she’s not thinking of taking her podcast to TV. because she doesn’t want to present anymore.“The global trend is that people want to listen to things in their own time.

People are about on-demand entertainment and you can see with the likes of Shomax and Netflix,” she said. “My podcast is relatively new and still growing. “One thing that I encourage people to do is to tell me about parts of the industry that they are curious about, so I don’t just interview people, who are stars of the show,” said the 28-year-old.
