Mzansi praise Percy Tau

Mzansi praise Percy Tau. The nail-gripping game saw Bafana Bafana go head to head with the Libyan team at their home-ground.

The name Percy Tau has put a smile on the faces of many South Africans since last night after Bafana Bafana won a game against Libya, booking their spot for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The intense game saw Tau open up the goal-scoring competition on the 50-minute mark. However, South Africa’s celebration of the goal was short-lived when Libya got offered a penalty which was successfully scored by Ahmad Benali.

Clearly disappointed at Libya’s penalty, Bafana Bafana showed great frustration as the game was coming to a near end; however, Percy Tau restored confidence back into the team when he scored the second goal.

This second goal placed the national team on the Group E standings, securing their position for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Since the national team’s win, South Africans have been praising the boys, especially Percy Tau for a job well-done. Here are some of the funniest tweets by South Africans we saw, honouring Percy Tau.

Some people jokingly tweeted that they’re giving themselves a day off in honour of the 24-year-old player.

Some have even dubbed him the Lion of Judah…wow.

Bafana Bafana have not had the best of luck in the past couple of years but people are starting to show signs of faith in the national team thanks to Percy.

Other South Africans are of the believe that Percy deserves every award you can think of, even a music award regardless of him not being a musician.

Well done to our national team especially Percy Tau and goal-keeper – Dareen Keet.
